Starfleet Engineering

Building an MCP Server from Scratch

🖖 Captain's Log

The Model Context Protocol is the Universal Translator for AI systems — a standardized way for language models to communicate with external tools, data sources, and services. In this series, we report for duty at Starfleet Academy and build a fully operational MCP Server from the ground up.

Each chapter is a mission briefing. From First Contact with the protocol, to activating the Ship Computer, initializing the Warp Core, calibrating the Sensor Array, arming the Replicators, establishing Subspace Communications, and finally facing the Kobayashi Maru — the ultimate test of deployment readiness.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." — And so we share these Engineering logs with all cadets brave enough to build their own starship.
